When Mark met with the owners of this two story home, they were desperate to update the outdated kitchen whilst, at the same time, create an inviting and practical open plan living area that was more in sync with their family and lifestyle.
Removing two internal walls created on huge open plan space.
Mark suggested removing two internal walls which completely transformed the existing kitchen, lounge room and dining areas into one huge open space. This opened up the boxed in, previously segregated kitchen and separate lounge and dining areas into a large, bright combined living area. The kitchen, lounge and eat-in dining areas now meld together seamlessly so the family can spent time in this functional living space rather than being closed off away from each other in separate rooms.
The size of the kitchen was increased to accommodate more storage.
With the removal of the internal walls we were able to increase the size of the kitchen to incorporate additional cupboards and storage plus a huge island bench where we hear the kids spend time doing their homework.
Huge doors created a seamless flow to the huge deck.
The addition of oversize custom-built bi-fold doors situated off the dining area flow seamlessly to the covered deck and pool. The goal was to create an easy transition between the indoors and outdoors thereby connecting the kitchen and living area to the outside. This functional deck area is now another all-weather living area that can be enjoyed all year long.
